As of yesterday, my character in SoulSilver reached the Indigo Plateau. Team’s all ready, Pokemon-wise, and only the training is left
AS WELL AS FOUR OTHER GAMES
So, basically, across the five regions, I shall challenge all the E4 members, right in a row, from Red version, then SoulSilver, Emerald, Platinum, and finally White. As it stands, this is how my teams are laid out, as well as how far I have to progress:
Red: Kangaskahn, Hypno, Arcanine (currently Growlithe, waiting for Flamethrower), Nidoqueen, Dewgong (HJBVFHBV yay), and Venusaur. Right now, I’m trying to train for my rival in Sliph Co. (god worst place to hang around, rival), which means I have three badges left (the level distribution in RBY is kind of shitty). I’d be farther, but the movepool allotted in in the first gen is just really really bad
(Your TM choices consist of Substitute, Earthquake, and Body Slam)
SoulSilver: Miltank, Machamp (NO GUARD HOORAY), Murkrow (Insomnia, but it was annoying just to get one at all, so), Tentacruel, Exeggcute (Exeggutor once Gina finds a damned Lead Stone), and Typhlosion. Training for the E4 is all that’s left, along with proper TM use. I’d REALLY like a Heart Scale or two, but
Emerald: Heracross, Altaria, Solrock, Cacturne, Weezing, and Swampert. Two badges left, as well as Team Aqua/the whole Rayquaza thing
Platinum: Yanmega, Gengar (with THUNDERBOLT), Houndoom, Milotic (hard to catch, easy to raise), Toxicroak, and Torterra. Need only to smash Galactic, and then Volkner
White: Reuniclus, Scoliopede, Gigalith, Ferrothorn, Chandelure(Lampent now, will evolve after Iris), and Samurott. Only Iris to beat, really, and then the training for the end
Out of these, Emerald pretty much gained its position as my favorite. Partially because it LAUGHS IN THE FACE OF GROUND-TYPES AND THEIR SILLYEARTHQUAKE-SPAMMING
Red and Platinum are the most difficult, though; Platinum uses a bunch of Pokemon I always WANTED to use (and Yanmega), but defensively, it was hard to find the sixth entry in the team (which ended up as Gengar). That, and the whole “how do I beat Flying-types” thing. As for Red, like I said, first gen strategies rarely go beyond “spam powerful STAB/Normal-type move/Earthquake”, so I just feel limited with the team I have (though my love for Hypno is UNDYING)
Honestly, though, I’m just very EXCITED, since all these teams were pretty much gained and raised on the fly, with numerous slot changes to each (I used-and-then-boxed two separate Umbreons, for example). So this summer, I shall be challenging every Elite Four (and N and Ghetsis), in order of increasing generation (with SS acting for Silver, for obvious reasons), with five teams of Pokemon I had no idea I would have
Also I like Poison-types have I mentioned
PS: I apologize severely to all four of my followers for this mass of text, I just really wanted to brag about my thirty Pokemon
I am so very sorry
so i did (another) companion piece to this
not super happy with it but at this point i have kind of stopped caring
